Synopsis:
What happens when someone
steals you? Do you develop in that darkness? Or do you simply break?
Shauna is stolen by Vengeance. Using torture, he breaks her, forcing her to reform and adapt. When he frees her, she flees. Thinking she's escaped her stalker and tormentor, she lets her guard down.
Then she meets Victor. Someone who seems sympathetic to her pain. Strong, loving, she learns to trust again by falling in love with this enigmatic neighbour.
But someone else watches.
Vengeance hasn't let go. She's living with him, loving him, trusting him, never doubting him.
In love, can she reform Victor, the way he reformed her?
Does the truth destroy Shauna, or will it set her free?

Review:
A dark disturbing erotic and twisted tale!
Darkroom is quite a disturbing and dark tale.
The story will leave you wondering if the world is truly this disturbing. Victor
seems to be a very troubled individual yet he goes after what he wants while
keeping his secrets close. Shauna just wants to trust and love yet doesn’t
understand the hurt, betrayal, and evilness that is lurking around. I really
liked that Poppet added the alternate ending. The alternate ending related to
how I thought the story would have concluded but they are both good conclusions.
This is a unique psychological thriller and should not be read by anyone that
cannot handle a dark read. The story is
intense and by the end you will wonder what you just read.
Jim Masters did a decent job with the
narration. He had a clear and crisp voice that was easy to follow. It didn’t
draw me into the story however the content of the story did.
This is the first book that I have read by Poppet. I recommend Darkroom to anyone that enjoys a dark psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
