A sudden death....a man gone mad....and...love?

When his wife suddenly drops dead during a family picnic, Adam Collins doesn't think things could possibly get any worse. That is until they do. Family pressure begins to mount for Adam to find a new wife, far sooner than he would like, but he does need help with his young children.

Alice Wesley just lost her sister. Her brother Nathan has lost his mind with grief. She will stop at nothing to protect her sister's children, even from her own brother.

Now the unthinkable has happened, and it’s up to Alice to find a way of escape, not only for herself but for the innocent children thrust into her care. She has two options: Hope for a rescue that seems impossible, or outthink the madmen who have taken her hostage.

When Nathan kidnaps his niece, nephew, and Alice, will Adam find them before it's too late?

Or is he destined to lose the rest of the people he holds dear?

Review:
A good clean and wholesome read!

Handsome Widower’s Second Chance is a story of Adam Collins who loved and lost. With no warning, Adam lost his wife and the mother of his children. Everyone grieves in his or her own way; Holly’s brother full of anger blames Adam for his sister’s death. While trying to cope with his own grief, Adam has to protect the children and his sister-in-law from the anger of Nathan that spirals out of control with the help of alcohol.

Handsome Widower’s Second Chance was a well-written story. There were many twists and turns that formed a believable plot. There was a lot of action and suspense with some added romance. The story was able to keep my attention until the very end. I thought the characters were well developed. You are able to feel the love and anger of the different character’s throughout the story. This was a clean and refreshing read as there were no vivid sex scenes. It was a clean and wholesome read.

In my personal opinion, a few things were lacking or unreal in the story that caused me not to enjoy it as much as I could have. One thing I did not feel was believable was the amount of time that Adam took to get over his deceased wife. I can’t imagine after a few days of losing the love of your life that you would start to develop deep feelings for someone else. Months or years later maybe but not days or weeks. Another thing was the person that Adam developed feelings for. This seemed just a bit far-fetched to me. The book, again my personal opinion here, could have went much better if Mark and Alice began a relationship and Adam found someone else, such as Missy. That would have made it a lot more believable and enjoyable.   Even with these few things that I didn’t care for in the story, this is still a really good book.
