Even when someone is cloaked by a charming smile and friendly nature, Ivy Nash knows the scent of a predator. Half of her life has been filled with one horrific event after another. Which is why she started ECHO, dedicating her life to rid the world of those who prey on children.

But despite all of her life experiences, nothing can prepare her for the "fun house." A terror unlike any other. And that's when she must decide if clinging to life is worth the hell that she will pay.

Review:
An intense and fast-paced suspenseful thriller!

Break IN is a fast-paced suspenseful thriller that involves the creator of ECHO, Ivy Nash. Ivy is on the search for missing children while Cristina is working on a different case of a girl who is hanging out with the wrong crowd at school. Three separate cases yet they are all at the center of the story. Ivy finds herself in a predicament and has to make choices that she doesn’t want to make. In the midst of the cases, Ivy and Cristina meet a charitable donor that wants to help the less fortunate children in the neighborhood. You never know if behind the smiles and sincerity is the true person or is that person someone with a secret.

Break IN was an intriguing and well-written story.  It was easy to read and follow with a unique plot. There were so many twists and turns that created a believable plot. You will wonder if what you thought is a possibility or is it another twist in the story. There was a lot of action and suspense that keeps you second-guessing yourself. I thought the way that the story started was intense. It really kept you wondering what happened.

The characters were well developed and engaging. John does a great job of intertwining the different characters from previous books in the series throughout. I did start wondering if a character was a certain person but it wasn’t revealed till the end. The suspense of the man that kept making Ivy uncomfortable added to the mystery of the story and really had me wondering whom he was and what was going on with him. To me he was one of the mysterious characters in the book by not knowing if he was good or bad.

I have read several books in this series by John W Mefford. I am never disappointed in his writing and know that when I pick up one of his books I will be thoroughly entertained.  I recommend Break IN to anyone that enjoys reading a suspense/thriller mixed with crime that will keep you entertained all the way to the end while keeping you sitting on the edge of your seat.
